[jim] i'm so thrilled have this show "beautiful world" broadcast on pbs. i mean where else can you see a concert special like this on television. these days with the commercial stations showing the stuff they show, it's just not the same as a pbs concert special. you're sitting in the audience, you get a chance to experience it just as if you're sitting in the theatre and i'm there playing with all my friends and bringing you this particular special called "beautiful world". now this is my fourth concert special for pbs, so i'm so thrilled that i have this support from all of you, the viewers for these specials. for me it's a labor of love. i of course grew up on pbs; i grew up watching pbs. my dad used to cook and follow julia child all the way, i was a huge fan of
12:49am
"sesame street" growing up, and of course influenced by so many of the things that i watched. just like you and maybe your children are. so for me getting a chance to play music that's heard and seen all over the country on pbs really makes a difference. now it's really important too that you, the viewer, knows that you are a big part of this. now i know you hear this all the time that you, the viewer, are how these things happen, but it really does make a difference. when you pledge to this station, you're contributing to your local public broadcasting station. you're saying, i want the arts to be supported in my community. and you're doing that by pledging to public broadcasting stations. that's how these shows are made and that's how i'm able to bring you this special, "beautiful world". so call the station right now. make your pledge to public television. let us know how important these concerts are to you.
